Why are foxes being killed?

A lot of people in Britain go around world saving wild animals like bears some of them end up being killed by the animals they were trying to conserve. Britain hardly has any wild life but one of the few things they have, foxes, are hunted and killed. They run wild in residential areas attacking people. Why aren't animal activists not doing something about them? Put them in zoos with other imported wild life like lions, elephants etc.
